Find your new forever companion

We are no longer at the Stroudsburg PetSmart. Please see our visit information page for details on how to meet our cats.

How to adopt

If you are interested in adopting, you can fill out an application two ways:

Below is a list of our long-time residents plus some of our newer intakes. This does not reflect all of the cats at ACT. We also have plenty of kittens and new intakes who are not listed on Petfinder, but may get shared to our Facebook page.

Note: We try to keep our Petfinder updated as much as possible. There are many more cats and kittens at the rescue waiting for their forever homes. We tend to post most new kittens to our Facebook page.

If you are looking for a specific type of cat – age, colors, personality – contact us and we can let you know if we have a match.

We only adopt younger kittens in pairs.

Here are the reasons why:

  • Single cats can become lonely and bored
  • Single cats will have a more difficult time accepting other pets down the road
  • Two cats have the opportunity to “be cats” and will keep each other occupied
  • This means that they are less likely to be destructive around the house
  • They will keep each other company when you are not home
  • They will groom each other
  • They can become bonded
  • TWO lives are saved instead of just one

If you already have cats or dogs, we reconsider, however, if they are much older, we still highly recommend a pair.

Consider a senior

We have a lot of older adults and senior cats. Too many of them live out the rest of their lives at the rescue. We’d rather them have the love and attention from a family of their own. Please consider opening your heart and home to a senior!

We have a lot of black cats looking for homes. Many of them have been with us for years. Please consider owning a house panther of your own. Do not overlook them!
