News Flash!!! Hoading Situation Leads To Cat Deaths!

Please help any way you can:
ACT was called July13th about a hoarding situation, border of Marshalls Creek and Bushkill. The woman died, the husband is paralyzed and in a home, owners went into the cabin and found about 34 cats in crates and carriers. The condition was horrendous. The smell could not be described. Luckily one of our volunteers has a large shed and is loaning it to us temporarily. PetSmart allowed us to buy 4 cages at cost. We pulled about 24 cats, but more are left there. There are also many outside that need to be trapped, spayed/neutered and returned. One cat had to be euthanized. 2 of the vets at Creature Comforts have offered their free time pro bono. What we need: Food, litter, $$, all cats have to be spayed and neutered, some medicated. More vet help. We cannot afford to spay/neuter all these animals. We already have about 30 kittens/cats that need to be spayed and neutered in the next few weeks. Our volunteers were great, they were up until after midnight at the vet and setting up the cages, and moving the cats from the horrible tiny cages and carriers they were in to cleaner quarters. These cats also need to be bathed. If you could please help us by donating any of the supplies or financial help it would help tremendously.

Hoarding Cats

Update of the cats involved in the hoarding incident

There were 26 cats pulled from the house in Marshall's Creek. Unfortunately, 3 were so badly sick and neglected that they had to be euthanized.

Another was so crippled from the terrible cramped living conditions that it could not walk and was slated for euthanasia. However, after 20 minutes and just before the cat was about to be put to sleep, he stood up and began taking hesitant steps…the volunteers cheered and cried. The cat was saved!

Happy to say, 19 of the cats have been adopted to fine, loving homes!

There are still 4 that wait for good homes. These cats have endured the unimaginable. The four cats are all gray, some with white boots and a white chest. They are very active...free at last…waiting for a forever home!
